As the party rested after fighting off the gorgonopsids, the Golden Orb spoke in everyone’s mind, telling them of the properties of certain herbs growing wild across these lands. It instructed them on how to make a tea that would give them visions that could help them.
Only Pyrus Hellborne refused. As the others hallucinated, Pyrus was visited by a hologram projection of Barton, Pyrus’s contact with the Navigatrix. Barton delivered the sword Black Ice to him via a rift in space.
Braxus saw an indistinct vision of the Stormwitch’s campfire, surrounded by hordes of human, stegoman, mantoid, and hybrid barbarian tribes.
Algo-Ha saw a vision of La Curandera. She told him “Do not trust him.” She did not clarify further.
Walker Wingman saw the Auric Wyrm writhing in front of him. It told him to “Seek the Stone, destroy the altar, and follow his friends.”
After resting and continuing toward the nearby city-state, they saw smoke in the distance. At first they thought it was the cookfires of a village, but as they got closer they saw that it was burning buildings. Rushing to see what was going on, they found a village, Cruxis, under attack by the Tribes of Night.
Slaying the remaining tribesmen, the party talked to the headman, Vrault. He said the tribesmen had stolen their Speaking Stone. He said the stone allowed them to communicate with their ancestors. Braxus also spoke with some stegomen who lived in the village. They said they were equal members of the village.
Remembering the words of the Wyrm, Walker Wingman wanted to go after the tribesmen and recover this Speaking Stone. The party followed the trail into the Nightlands, where the sun does not shine. After much travel, they tracked the tribesmen to some Ancient Ruins and fought the guards outside.
